If you’ve ever dreamed of strolling through Sleeping Beauty’s Castle, riding Big Thunder Mountain with a French twist, or eating Mickey-shaped treats just outside the City of Light, then Disneyland Paris should be on your travel list.
As Europe’s most-visited theme park, Disneyland Paris combines Disney magic with European charm, making it a must-do whether you’re traveling with kids, friends, or just chasing the nostalgia on your own.
In this guide, I’ll cover everything you need to know—tickets, hotels, rides, food, and insider tips—to plan the perfect Disneyland Paris trip.
Why Visit Disneyland Paris?
Disneyland Paris opened in 1992 and has become one of the most popular attractions in Europe. Just 40 minutes from central Paris, it offers a unique mix of classic Disney experiences and European flair.
It’s not just a smaller version of Walt Disney World—it has its own character, with must-see rides you can’t find anywhere else.
Disneyland Paris Parks
There are two parks at Disneyland Paris:
1. Disneyland Park (Parc Disneyland)
This is the main park, home to Sleeping Beauty’s Castle, Main Street U.S.A., and the classic lands:
- Fantasyland: It’s a Small World, Peter Pan’s Flight, Mad Hatter’s Tea Cups
- Adventureland: Pirates of the Caribbean, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril
- Discoveryland: Hyperspace Mountain, Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast
- Frontierland: Big Thunder Mountain, Phantom Manor
✨ Don’t miss: Sleeping Beauty Castle—it has more surprises to see than any other castle. Certain locations seem to close early in the day so I wouldn’t wait until the evening to visit the castle.
2. Walt Disney Studios Park
Smaller than the main park, but worth visiting if you have 2+ days. Highlights include:
- Ratatouille: The Adventure (a must-do unique to Paris!)
- Avengers Campus (Iron Man, Spider-Man, and more)
- Toy Story Playland
✨ Insider Tip: If you only have one day, focus on Disneyland Park.
Best Rides at Disneyland Paris
Some rides are similar to the U.S. parks, but these stand out:
- Big Thunder Mountain (even better than Orlando’s version)
- Phantom Manor (Paris’s spooky twist on Haunted Mansion)
- Ratatouille: The Adventure (originally exclusive to Paris, now also at EPCOT)
- Pirates of the Caribbean (longer and more detailed)
- Sleeping Beauty Castle Walkthrough with stained glass and dragon animatronic
Tickets & Costs
- 1-Day Tickets: From €56–€105 depending on date and park choice
- 2-Day Tickets: From €150 per adult (both parks included)
- Multi-Day Tickets: Best value if you’re staying at least 2–3 days
- Premier Access: Skip-the-line pass, available per ride or as a package
✨ Money-Saving Tip: Book tickets online in advance for the best prices.
Where to Stay at Disneyland Paris
You’ll find everything from luxury hotels to budget-friendly options:
- Disneyland Hotel (just reopened in 2024, ultra-luxury, located right above the entrance)
- Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel (modern, Marvel-themed)
- Disney’s Newport Bay Club (Nautical, mid-range, walking distance)
- Budget Options: B&B Hotel, Campanile Val de France (5–10 minutes by shuttle)
We stayed at the Disney’s Hotel Cheyenne, toy story themed hotel which I do not highly recommend but its a fine budget hotel with a short direct shuttle to the park. If you want a hotel for the experience I highly recommend Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel.
✨ Insider Tip: If you want to save money, stay at a nearby partner hotel and use the free shuttle to the parks.
Food & Dining
Disneyland Paris has plenty of quick-service spots and a few themed restaurants worth trying:
- Bistrot Chez Rémy (Walt Disney Studios, Ratatouille-themed, Reservation Required)
- Auberge de Cendrillon (character dining with princesses, Fantasyland)
- Captain Jack’s (sit-down restaurant inside Pirates of the Caribbean)
- Earl of Sandwich (budget-friendly, Disney Village)
✨ Food Tip: Dining reservations open 60 days in advance via the Disneyland Paris app. Book character dining early—it sells out fast!
If staying on property you will also be paying for board in the form of breakfast, half day or full day.
Getting to Disneyland Paris
Disneyland Paris is located in Marne-la-Vallée, about 40 km from central Paris.
- By Train (RER A): About 40 minutes from Paris, drops you right at the entrance.
- By Car: Around 45 minutes, parking is available (about €30/day).
- From the Airport: Direct shuttle buses run from Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports.
✨Insider Tip: If you’re staying on property you get early access on check-in day. Take an early train that allows you to take advantage of rope drop before checking into your hotel.
When to Visit Disneyland Paris
- Best Weather: May–June and September–October (mild, fewer crowds)
- Holiday Magic: November–December for Christmas decorations
- Avoid: Late July–August (busy and hot), and French school holidays
